Life has given me many opportunities to travel and play sports.
I have traveled for various reasons: tourism, study, work, sport. I had the chance to visit many places, I met people all over the world, and I shared the most varied passions, especially sports.
I used different means of transport for my travels such as train, car, motorbike, plane, boat, bicycle, or my foot.
Each of them has its own characteristics and needs its own time.
The car rides, despite the desire to appreciate the landscape and live with curiosity what lies before your eyes, is often interrupted by traffic, or by the need to arrive at a certain time, so it is only a humble means of transport that no longer emotions like it used to.
The train allowed me to concentrate on the panorama, but it got too fast and, instead of looking out the window, I focused on a book or on the mobile, and everything around me … disappears.
The plane gave rise to the curiosity to look down at the places. I always loved it, especially for the places I still should have discovered. The landscape, at first small and distant, then always bigger and near, becomes full of details: we can distinguish the houses’ windows, the streets, the cars, and slowly that place becomes real and raises inside of us a great desire to see and to discover it.
The sailboatmade me live very beautiful moments, in the peace of silence, with the only sound of the sails and the wind. It envelops us in this pleasant ambience, away from the crowded beaches, the people’s voices and the screaming kids who were running and raising the sand,
that inevitably drops on your face.
What about the bicycle? It’s very useful in the city to move, an amazing vehicle to play sports, but always limited to the purpose of the tour or of the sport.
Hiking and walking… How wonderful! The most beautiful experience of my life so far: being able to experience nature by walking. Hiking in the mountains: I have never been able to live it as a mere sporting event because the breathtaking beauty of the places leads me to stop and admire the nature, to live the place away from the noise of the city, to smell the scents, to observe the color of the sky. Then the mountains … with their peaks, glaciers, colors – a sheer union between nature and human beings. Besides this, always walking, I put myself to a unique experience: The Way of Santiago: 830 km in 24 days, alone. It definitely changes your life!
The knowledge of the places seen from the saddle of a horse and living together lacks me. The horse shares with you every emotion, every adventure, which other means of transportation do not offer you.
It’s the beginning of a different way of living the holiday, my journey: emotions on horseback
